A weary world rejoices…
If I’m honest, I’m weary.
This year, this season of life, this cancer, has left me weary. And cancer aside, I know I’m not alone. So, so many are feeling the same way. I’m not sure if 2021 was supposed to be the savior for 2020, but it failed. And if that’s all we have to look to for hope, I know we’ll all be let down.
I know I’ve been absent from this blog, and I hope you are all doing well as we wrap up the holiday season.
My family and I had such a fun Christmas Day, and I’m so grateful for that. Because anyone who has kids knows that all the prep, hype, and anticipation of the big day can lead anyone to be weary, or to meltdowns.
Yet even bigger, I know that successfully surviving a holiday without meltdowns, or even looking forward to a brand new year is not the cure for those who are weary. Me included. And I also think it’s ok to be weary, and still know you are blessed in so many ways.
Only Jesus can meet us where we are at. Only he can recharge a weary soul and give us hope for our future. That IS worth rejoicing over and something we can celebrate on Christmas Day, or any day.
Please reach out if that intrigues you and you’d like to know more.
Happy New Year!
