Merry Christmas

In the Dahl house, Christmas celebrates the birth of the best baby to grace us with his presence on this earth. Yes, there are parties, cookies, rides to see lights, caroling, hot cocoa, decorating the house, and all sorts of fun things, yet those things can also sometimes distract us from the true meaning. In and of themselves, they are great. Yet I often get so busy and wrapped up in the “stuff”, that the days fly by and I have to stop myself and kind of refocus on Jesus. Anyone else feel that way?

Advent calendars and activities I do with my kids actually really help me, too! The Jesse Tree is a great one. It breaks up the days leading up to Christmas to teach on Jesus’s family line. I love how God used lots of ordinary people to write his story. Gives me hope that he can even use me.

I get it that as you read this we are hours away from Christmas, but don’t give up! I honestly put ideas in my calendar for next year to remind me of things I’d like to do. You’ll be the most “on it” mama!

If you are an AZ local, I’d like to invite you to our church on Christmas Eve. I’d be honored to have you join us.

And complete side note- catch my husband’s red goatee which he is sporting this Christmas. Helps explain where the “red comes from” to strangers. Ha! Rumor has it that it will be going away soon, so had to point it out.

I wish you all the Merriest Christmas and I hope in all the fun, you also find the greatest gift of all- Jesus.
