Changing Lives

Our habits shape our lives, don’t they? This holds true for our health; our wellness.

Think about it- if we don’t have a habit of exercising, we probably won’t do it much, and won’t see much of a benefit. If we don’t have a habit of eating well, we probably won’t do it much and won’t see much of a benefit.

Yet if we commit, it’s amazing how the body responds and wants more. More exercise, more whole food.

There’s also the issue of time. Yes, going to the gym takes time, buying and preparing healthy food takes time.

Little digression here. When it comes to working out, the biggest difference to me has been friends. I have a group of girls who go to my same gym. But more than that, we are on a text chain and can coordinate classes we will take. And they encourage me like no other. Plus, our littles play together while we work out. So I encourage you- grab your besties and head to the gym together.

When it comes to healthy eating, I have a confession to make: I don’t like to meal plan or cook. I know. I just lost half of you. I try to enjoy it, I just don’t. Yet, enjoy it or not, when I don’t at least take time to meal plan, we just don’t eat as well. Duh, right?!

But in spite of the effort and time, going to the gym and intentionally planning and eating healthy are so very worth it!!!

Guys, the same is true for natural wellness- specifically essential oils! One, you’ve got to make it a habit. Two, once it is (and most times even before) you’ll see results and your body will want more. Three, give yourself a little time to learn. Don’t just quit after a short period when you haven’t intentionally taken time to learn.

Something else to know about oils: use them Proactively, not Re-actively.

The more you and your family uses oils, the better off you all will be. And yes, I use oils on my redheads every day. Every day. The same holds true for essential oil based toxin-free products. Retrain your mind – instead of reaching for a product you used to use to solve a current issue, use oils. Or even better, use oils and healthy products along the way, and hopefully avoid the issue altogether.

It’s the idea of preventative maintenance. Stick with me here. Most people don’t start exercising because they already feel great. People don’t start eating healthier because they already feel that what they eat is helping their body. People make changes in these areas TO feel better. And they can’t exercise one time or eat just one healthy meal and say- “Great, I’m all set and will feel better forever”. Others would think they are nuts.

So, why should oils be any different? They aren’t. Using them over time is where you see the most benefit, especially when it comes to boosting immunity for you and your kiddos.

And then when your kid’s entire class is out sick, and he’s still kicking, you can remind yourself: there really is something to preventative maintenance.

Also, be smart- oils are NOT a cure. Although they are darn fantastic. They seek balance and support the body to function as God intended. Please, don’t just ditch something you’ve been prescribed. If you’d love to cut something out of your life that you’ve been taking, start cleaning up your health, then talk to your doctor.

I share all of this because not only changing my “health” lifestyle, but also these distilled plants in little bottles, have drastically changed my life! If you have more questions on oils or checking them out for yourself, reach out or look at my Healthy Living page.
