Kid Style- Breaking the Rules

My son’s favorite color is red.  He is drawn to red clothes- especially Spider-Man shirts.  He has red hair.  You see my dilemma.

I’ve decided to do a segment about what my kiddos wear.  I am NOT a mom that has great fashion sense.  Really!! I actually think I’m more of a glutton for punishment to see if I can get a 1 and 4 year old to pose so that I can see his/her whole outfit. Ha!!  I’m also not one who likes to spend a ton on kid’s clothes.  They grow so fast!!  And my daughter hates wearing a bib, so…

I’m a huge fan of hand-me-downs (thanks Jen!) and also re-sale for kids.  Because they grow so fast, you really can get great outfits for much cheaper.  If you are local in AZ, my 2 favorites are Kid-to-Kid and Once Upon A Child.  Do you know of other great kid re-sale stores?  I’d love you to leave the info in the comments.

So to start things off, I’m breaking the rules.  I had Asher wear his favorite Spider-Man shirt with black pull-on shorts.  I put Maggie in an orange outfit with a crisscross back top and little shorts.  As they both have red hair, I’d say most people would feel that red and orange are off limits.  I really think it depends on your kid, and the exact color of their hair.  Are these the best colors on my redheads? Maybe not, but I still think they look darn cute.

Use your mom gut with what looks good on your kids.  Or just let them wear whatever the heck they want (within reason) now and then.

Asher and Maggie are both wearing outfits from Target.  If you follow me long, you’ll learn that I’m a fan of Target.
